I had Penny care for me after I came home from hospital after gall bladder surgery. Penny picked me up and stayed with me for a whole week. I felt so relieved not to have to worry about my wound care, meals or housework. I'd definitely go with private care again, it was fantastic.
I wish I'd known about Lotus before we put Dad into the hospice. The way the Lotus team attended to his care at home was amazing. It's not every day you see such dedication to a person at the end of his life like Dad was. At least his last couple of months were peaceful, pain free and pleasant. The family grew very fond of the Lotus girls.
I wanted to go overseas but was worried about my medical condition. I saw that Lotus helped people to travel with medical support so I decided to give it a go. Rob was a thoughtful travel companion and a reassuring presence, always available when I needed him. I liked the way he understood my equipment too. I wouldn't have had the opportunity to travel if not for Rob. Thanks very much Lotus Nursing.
I would like to thank my lovely carers from Lotus Nursing who have made my life a lot easier by attending around-the-clock for my personal care needs. Their support has made it much easier for my family, as they keep my morale up by attending to the hygiene and showering departments. It's so encouraging to have their positive feedback, they are very flexible and always happy to oblige requests.

Lotus Companionship Care
Peter was deemed to be high care and moved from his community house to an aged care facility. Pete loves music and dancing, even though it is in his wheelchair. Peter has downs syndrome and is still young, so we have companionship carers in to see him a few times a week. He loves the outings, goes swimming and for great walks in some of Melbourne's beautiful parks. He sees his old friends in the community house and participates in activities with them. He is even going to the men's shed now. Our family appreciate the support we get from Lotus. It takes the pressure off because we all work and can't get there as much as we would like to.
We placed Mum into the aged care home thinking she'd get lots of individual care and attention, but the staffing levels weren't what we'd expected. Mum started to get really depressed so we bought in a companionship carer, who took her out to her appointments, cafes and to see her friends and family. It was great when the carer brought in the carer dogs. Mum's face just lit up!
I felt guilty that I wasn't able to communicate with my wife Barbara, I think I still do actually. But since Pamela has developed this bond with her, I feel the burden doesn't belong to me anymore. I enjoy seeing her more now. Pamela has helped me to understand dementia and my wife. Thanks Pamela.
